YBA’s donate work for new gallery at Goldsmiths, 16 January 2015

Works from alumni of the Goldsmiths will be offered at auction, at Christies, in aid of a new gallery at Goldsmiths. These will include works by: Michael Craig-Martin (b. 1941) Untitled (light bulb), Acrylic on aluminium, 2014, Estimate: £18,000 - £22,000; Damien Hirst (b. 1965), Beautiful Spread your wings open your mind painting, Estimate: £150,000 - £200,000; and Sarah Lucas (b. 1962) Nahuiolin, Cast Bronze, 2013, Estimate: £120,000 - £180,000 ( (Pictured). The new gallery is set to open in water tanks originally used for the Laurie Grove baths.
